A new toy - Philips Noodle maker & Zha Jiang Mian [醡酱面]

Yes! My new toy from my hubby! A Philips noodle maker. Impressed by the new machine that can make springy & chewy fresh noodles in just 10mins with no dough wastage! The best part is you just need plain flour, egg & water. No preservative at all. ️ it to the max!  Don't worry about the washing, it is so easy to clean up after your noodle making.

Ingredients needed: 
  • 250g of plain flour
  • 90ml of liquid (1 egg+water)

Zha Jiang Mian [醡酱面]

(Serving for 2-3 persons)
Ingredients needed: 
  • 160g minced pork
  • 80g soaked chinese mushrooms (chopped to minced it)
  • 2 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 170ml of water
  • mix 3 tablespoon of oyster sauce+0.5 tablespoons of light soya sauce+ 1 teaspoon of sesame oil+ some pepper)
  • 3pcs of small rock sugar
  • corn starch (1.5tablespoon of corn flour + some water)
Others items needed:
  • 1 cucumber, shredded 
  • 1 carrot, shredded
  • 300g of fresh homemade Egg noodle

A bowl of Fried Rice

My mum's fried rice is well liked among us and her grandchildren. 姜还是老的辣! She told me cooking a bowl of nice fried rice, the rice cannot be too soggy & the wok must be very hot during the stir frying. Tonight, I adopted her method! Yes, I can say it really taste so much nicer than my normal fried rice. However, remember to keep frying and beware of the HOT wok.
Give it a try. U can whip out a nice bowl of fried rice at home too within 10mins (exclude the cooking of rice & preparation).

I did it! Kueh Bangkit, my favourite CNY cookie since I am young. My first time making it. I can't say it is 100% perfect but I am satisfied with the result. My gal can't stop popping them into her mouth after it cooled down.

Ingredients of making Peng Cai材料!十全十美!
Mushrooms & abalone brew with 200ml of water+2 tablespoon of oyster sauce+1 teaspoon of sugar+some pepper and cook for 20mins. Thicken it with some corn starch.

Happy Valentines' Day to all of you!
A simple strawberries bouquet done with my boy. A bit messy but it worth the bonding. All you need is a box of strawberries, melted chocolate & sprinkle. Enjoy!

Oh Lala~

Oh lala! Who love lala aka clam as much as I do? Oh yes, my kitchen is open not only got kids but my hubby & myself too! I can't resist the temptation, I bought them fresh from market this morning! Whipped them up using Chilli bean sauce. Viola, spicy yummylicious! It's gone in minutes.
Stir fry Clam aka Lala with Chilli bean paste

  • 1kg of fresh clam ( wash them a few times & soak them in salt water for them to release sand)
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 small Chilli padi, cut small 
  • 1.5 tablespoon of oil
  • 1 tablespoon of Chilli bean sauce 
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar 
  • some water 
  • some wine ( optional)
  • some spring onions for garnish ( optional)

Steps referred to pictorial.
Note: Don't over cooked the clam. They are ready to serve once they opened their "mouth".

Potatoes croquettes

Potatoes croquettes for my kids snack today! I believe your little ones will love it as much as mine!
Potatoes croquettes

(serving for 2-3 persons)

  • 400g russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoon of olive oil for stir fry
  • 1/2 cup of corns
  • 1 small carrots
  • 1/2 yellow onions
  • 150g bacons
  • some salt & pepper to taste

  • 80g corn flour
  • 2 beaten eggs 
  • 80g bread crumbs

  • vegetables oil

Mayo & tomatoes sauce for dipping
  • 2 tablespoon of mayonnaise 
  • 1 tablespoon of tomatoes sauce

Steps: Refer to pictorial for the steps.
Note: Any extra can be freeze. Thaw & cook again before serve. A good idea for kids recess time too.

Cheesy Macaroni with corn & shrimps

When u are running out of idea and yet you want to fill up the tummies at home. Cheese & Macaroni came into my mind. Best combination of the 2 items which always available in my pantry. In this recipe, I don't use heavy cream. I replaced it with milk instead to make it a healthier dish and it is yummy! 
Cheesy Macaroni with corn & shrimps
Recipe by Taglicious
(serving for 2-3 persons)

  • 180g macaroni ( Cooked in water for 10 mins)
  • 2 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1/2 yellow onions, diced 
  • 15pcs shrimps, diced
  • 1 corn, cut out the corn pulps
  • 250ml of milk ( I used full cream milk)
  • 1 sliced cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of plain flour
  • Some black pepper & salt to taste
  • Some parsley flakes
  • 1 cup of cheddar cheese for topping

Steps: Follow pictorial.
Note: individual oven temperature varies, just bake till the top is golden brown.

A Sushi toy

My kids had been eyeing on my toy for a long time! A thoughtful colleague that know I love cooking and she got me this sushi maker during Christmas 3 years ago! She is right! She said Enqi and I sure to enjoy it.

Finally opened up my toy for them to make sushi today! The kids had so much fun and requested me to make it again soon.  Roll roll roll, let it roll round and round into sushi! Yum!
Hee Hee, I got another box of dumpling maker toy and going to keep it till I have chance to play it.
The sushi kit & I prepared some basic ingredients.
Ready to start!
